Our tour guide, a young, perky lady named Emily (she was GREAT!) explained to us that for every Oscar that is awarded, the studio also gets an Oscar. It was awarded to Francis Lai for Best Music, Original Score for the 1970 movie Love Story. Speaking of real, that is a real Oscar we are holding.
Tickets are much cheaper, at 60 dollars per person, and if you are going to Hollywood and want a great studio tour, CHOOSE PARAMOUNT! None of this theme park nonsense, you get the real deal. So, I thought, wait a minute, they aren't the only movie studio in town, and my first choice was Paramount, right at 5555 Melrose Ave. The price started at 129 dollars per person, and paying that much for a very small slice of what we want to see, we were not interested. Must be trying to compete with Disneyland and other amusement parks. Universal has dumped the just the studio tour, and has wrapped it up in a crappy Universal theme park.
My wife had not done a studio tour, so I went online to check for tickets. I had done the tour back in 1977, and had enjoyed it very much. A couple of weeks before our trip, I was looking at Universal Studios for a tour.
